Longest Lasting Super Bright Rim Lights By Speed Racer

My daughters ride their bikes often. Since they occasionally ride in the neighborhood as it is getting dark, safety is a concern. They also like to make their bikes fun-looking and unique. When I had an opportunity to try out the Longest Lasting Super Bright Rim Lights by Speed Racer, I knew they would be up for the challenge.

The Rim Lights come in a pack of 6 LED valve lights (3 green, 2 blue and 2 colorful). The lights just screw into the valve stem and works with motion. The instructions were not very helpful, but once we figured out how to put the lights together, installing them on the valve stem was simple and they did stay secure once attached.

Unfortunately, we had some issues with these lights. One of the biggest issues, the instructions are not very thorough and we had to figure out for ourselves that there is actually a paper inside that needs to be removed before they will work. Once we figured that out, still only about half of them worked initially. My husband is pretty tech savvy and was able to take the nonworking ones apart, fixed all but one and then put them back together. The unfixable light still did not work and he figured out that a piece was actually missing from it.

Once we got most of the lights working, we put them on both tires on each bike. They did stay unlit while the bikes were not in motion and then light up as they were riding. The lights were not too bright, but bright enough you could see them and tell what color they were on each valve stem.

One word of warning, they break easily if you drop them. We accidentally dropped one of the lights onto cement from a standing position while trying to fix it and it shattered.

Overall, the girls enjoy the lights on their bikes, but clear instructions and better quality would be nice.
