Smart Weigh SBS500 Body Fat Digital Precision Scale

The Smart Weigh SBS500 Body Fat Digital Precision Scale is a very sleek and nice looking scale. If you are someone who likes or has the need to calculate such things as body fat, body water, muscle mass and bone mass, aside from your weight, then you might appreciate what this scale has to offer.

The scale is simple to set up and use. There is the capacity to be able to store personal information up to 8 users. This does take a few minutes to set up for a single person, but it only has to be done once per individual. Once a registered user steps on the scale, it will automatically pull up the information for the person whose weight closest matches the current weight. If there is more than one person within a 6.6 pound range, then you will have to choose the correct user. If you are someone who does not want your information known and your weight is close to someone else in the house, this could be problematic.

While the style is very appealing and modern looking with the sleek black and stainless steel design, I do have one issue with the metal part, it is very cold to step on. I pretty much have to brace myself each morning before stepping on the scale as I know it will be chilly on my feet. The digital numbers are easy to read and well defined which is nice.

For myself and my husband, the additional information of body fat, body water, muscle mass, bone mass, side from weight was interesting the first couple of times. After that, honestly, it would take so long to go through the cycle three times that we would never stay on long enough for that to happen. We would just weight ourselves and then step off of the scale. If you are someone who would appreciate that information, then this might be a useful feature. It is just too bad it cannot cycle three times at a quicker rate.

As far as the scale’s accuracy. For the most part it seemed rather consistent. But, we did notice that there would be fluctuations with our weight on the scale when there should not have been. As in, stepping off and then back up a couple of minutes later, our calculated weight would be different. It would not be a dramatic difference, but enough were we would be left wondering about our actual weight.
